Historical Attraction
For two centuries the walled royal enclosure, Fasil Ghebbi, in Gondar served as the capital of the Ethiopian Empire. Initiated by the Ethiopian emperor Fasilides around 1635 and expanded by his successors, Fasil Ghebbi, surrounded by a 900-m-long wall, contains Indian and Baroque style palaces, churches and monasteries, the likes unknown anywhere else in Sub-Saharan Africa.
North of Gondar lies the Simien Mountains National Park, with the fourth highest peak of Africa, with some of the most ragged escarpments of Ethiopia and becoming an increasingly popular destination for mountain trekking. The park is home to some extremely endangered animal that only occur in Ethiopia, like the Ethiopian Wolf and the Walia Ibex, a wild goat, the gelada baboon and the Lammergeier, with its 3m wingspan.
Day 1
Drive to Bahir dar 570 km away of Addis Ababa and overnight hotel.
Day 2
Morning boat trip on lake tana the biggest lake in Africa and the source of blue Nile , visit the island of monastery :kibran Gebral ,uran kidan mihiret , azwa maraim and after lunch drive to blue Nile falls 35 km from the city of Bahir dar that is called Tis abay(smoking water ) over night hotel .
Day 3
Drive to Gonder, fasiledes 180 km asphalted road From Bahir dar. Then, visit gonder castle that was built by emperor fasiledes in 1636 and visit the qusqam complex, the palace of empress mitwab and visit the amazing Ethiopian ancient painting debre birhan sielassie church (the light of mountain trinity ) and the bath of emperor fassiledes ,at night relax on traditional music that is called azmari biet over night hotel.
Day 4
Drive to semein mountain national park the beautiful and roof of African land escape of the national park here live the Walia (Abyssinian) ibex, Simien red wolf and Gelada baboon - all endemic to Ethiopia. Over nigh in semien lodge.
Day 5
Early in the morning,we will have a half day trekking and in afternoon drive to Gonder.Overnight hotel
Day 6
Drive to Axum via Mekelle.Overnight in a hotel
Day 7
Early in the Morning drive to Axum to visit the great obelisk of Axum and saint Mary Zion church which is built in 4th century during the reign of king Ezana who converted the Aksumite kingdom to Christianity and reserved the original Ark of covenant, then visit the tomb of king kaleb and gebre meskel and the bath of queen Sheba over nigh hotel.
Day 8 drive to Lalibela
The 8th wonder of the world, one of the powerful Christian in the 10th century Christians who followed the way of the Axum religious and cultural tradition was the founders of the town around the mid 12th century. The area today Lalibela is named after one of the famous kings of the dynasty who carved out the eleven monolithic, semi monolithic and carved rock hewn churches from the living rock. over night hotel
DAy 9
Morning visit the all 1st and 2nd group of rock hewn church that are symbolized by earthly Jerusalem and heavenly Jerusalem lunch at hotel after launch,we will visit the amazing and the only 3rd group of rock hewn church and the symbolized of arc of nohe that is called st. Gorge. Overnight hotel
